As stated on the club’s official website, a new date has been announced by the Premier League for Manchester United’s home game versus Chelsea.
The Red Devils were originally supposed to face the Blues at Old Trafford this weekend, but the match was cancelled following the club’s victory against Brighton & Hove Albion to advance to the FA Cup semifinal.
Now, the match will be played on May 25 at 8 p.m. BST. This would be United’s second-last game of the season. They will then play against Fulham at home three days later to end the league campaign.
The Red Devils are presently third in the rankings, six points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur who are in fifth position despite having played one more game than them.
Tomorrow, Spurs will play against fourth-place Newcastle United, and there is a significant chance that they could lose another point.
Therefore, United is in a good position to earn a spot in the Champions League for the following season, but they should not assume their position at this time.
There are still eight games for the Red Devils to play this season, and in our opinion, the team may need at least four victories to seal a top-four berth.
