According to the Mirror, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani continues to be cautious about the possibility that the Glazer family might retain ownership of Manchester United instead of selling the club this summer.
The Qatari camp remains hopeful that their takeover bid will eventually come to fruition and they believe that an official decision will be made in due course.
It has been nearly eight months since the Glazers initially declared their intention to explore the option of selling the club, yet a final outcome has yet to be reached.
Sheikh Jassim through his Nine Two Foundation, has pledged a complete takeover of United, while INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe is also in pursuit of the club.

The Glazer family still has the option to remain involved with a minority investment. Sheikh Jassim’s group maintains confidence in winning the race and has privately expressed such belief. However, a last-minute change of plans by the current owners cannot be ruled out.
As per reports, there are divisions within the Glazer family, with some members in favour of a sale and others interested in retaining a stake.
Sources suggest that the owners might consider seeking outside investment to support the renovation of Old Trafford and the club’s training facilities.
If Sheikh Jassim’s bid is successful, it is speculated that he may delist the club from the New York Stock Exchange and take it private after more than a decade.
