As reported by The Metro, Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has revealed that he prevented our young star Anthony Elanga from leaving on loan.
Before Ralf Rangnick arrived, they were many proposals waiting for Anthony Elanga and the club was ready to listen to offers for him but the manager didn’t let that happen as soon as he arrived.
He revealed that he had also watched some youtube videos to analyze Elanga’s style of play and he was instantly impressed by the attacking qualities of the Swedish striker.
The 19-year-old wonderkid is one of our few brightest players from our club academy. His pace, positioning, and ball control have been praised by many. Now, Rangnick has revealed that he became a fan of the player and wanted him to stay at Old Trafford and develop himself.
He said: “He was almost on his way out on loan, I told him you will not go out on loan, you will say here. He has developed in training.”
Anthony Elanga scored a well-controlled goal against Brentford two days back, and it sheds light on the smooth finishing style of the striker.
Ralf Rangnick has utilized him more often in recent games and he has been deployed to play at the right-wing position with players like Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, and Cristiano Ronaldo to support him in the attack.
Anthony Elanga had also praised Ralf Rangnick for his influence on his game-play. He said: “I appreciate the boss so much and you can see in training, the intensity, how much we are running.”
Till now, Elanga has three senior goals to his name and has seven appearances this season. You can’t make this player look mediocre considering the fact that has also won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in 2020.
As revealed by the Athletic in October 2020, former United player Gary Neville compared Anthony Elanga with the legendary Arsenal striker Thierry Henry for his versatility and lethal finishing.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be thanked for giving the opportunity for Anthony Elanga to play for the senior team. Ralf Rangnick now has the responsibility to take him to a much deeper role in the team and make sure that the young striker develops into a regular player for Manchester United.
