Anthony Martial’s agent has stated that his client wishes to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window, although Rangnick claims that the Frenchman has not talked to him about his desire to leave the club.
Despite his agent’s claims that the French striker wants to leave, Anthony Martial has not told Ralf Rangnick about his plans to leave the club in January.
Martial’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, indicated in an interview last week that his client will want to leave the club in the new year, but the Manchester United manager says he has received no indication from the player that he is dissatisfied.
As reported by SkySports, Rangnick said:
“Anthony wishes to leave the club in January. He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon. The player hasn’t spoken with me or us about it. To be honest, what his agent says via the media is not of that much interest to me.”
“No. Then I would react to what his agent has said and it should be the player. If he really has the wish to go to another club it should be the player who informs either the board or myself. I have never spoken about a player via the media and via agents.”

The 26-year-old, who joined United in 2015, inked a new contract in 2019 that will keep him at the club until 2024, with a one-year extension option. Martial has been out for the last three games due to a knee injury, and he is currently not fit to face Brentford on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-contract old’s runs until June 2024, with an option for the club to extend it for another year.
Following a spectacular 2019-20 season in which he scored 23 goals, he has struggled for form subsequently, scoring only seven goals across all competitions last season and only one goal so far this season.
