Since his arrival at Manchester United, Raphael Varane has been delighted by the ‘togetherness,’ seen at the club even during the tough times. The club was in a really bad phase a few games back but the fans had been supporting the players in large numbers.
Varane has been an important player for the club and since the time he stepped into the club, he has been amazed by the club’s togetherness. As reported by The Times, he said: :
“We have to believe and never give up. We have to stay calm and focus on our work. That’s what I say to my teammates in the dressing room. We know we have to take responsibility and try to do our best. We know we have to improve. I know from my experience there is a lot of noise outside but inside we have to go together and help each other.”
“A good example is the atmosphere at Old Trafford when we were losing 2-0 and we won the game 3-2 [against Atalanta]. The stadium pushed the team. In England, it’s like that. In all the [other] countries it’s very different if you are losing 2-0 at home, the atmosphere will be very different. That’s one of the reasons I came here because of the different atmosphere, different feeling in stadiums. Manchester United is special.”
Following his summer move from Real Madrid, the Frenchman has had a disappointing start to life in England, with the Champions League-winning defender limited to just six Premier League matches for his new team.

The 28-year-old is now out with a hamstring injury suffered in a draw with Atalanta in Bergamo a few weeks ago, having just recently returned from another minor injury in the win against Tottenham.
His absence was felt during the club’s recent poor form, with the World Cup champion forced to watch as his side was thrashed by the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Watford.
When he has played for the Red Devils, there appears to be a distinct difference, with the backline looking far less wobbly with him in it, despite the fact that he is still a week or two away from returning to action.
As Man United prepares to face Crystal Palace on Sunday, Varane knows that the players must accept responsibility for their recent poor form as they enter a new era under German manager, Ralf Rangnick.
