Rashford bags PFA Merit Award

Marcus Rashford had a fantastic 2019/20 season, which saw him score 17 goals in the Premier League, the joint-highest for Manchester United. The Englishman had a couple of injury scares throughout the season but came back well. It is now being reported that Marcus Rashford has been awarded the PFA Merit Award, which is awarded to footballers for their off the fieldwork.

Marcus Rashford has been heavily involved for feeding of poor young children in England since the lockdown began. The winger has been applauded for his efforts to improve the lives of children whose parents aren’t well-off. Thus he has been awarded the PFA special award for his deeds as he strives forward for the betterment of children in need in England.

In his recent interview with Sky Sports, Rashford said: “What we’ve done so far, it’s only a short-term answer. Me and my team behind me are just trying to find plans on how we can help these children for the rest of their childhood really; to find long-term answers to the problem.

He also added that “At the moment we don’t have the answers but we’ll do our best to try to find them, and to progress the situation that they are in at the moment the best we can.” Rashford, himself has had humble beginnings and relates to the children’s situation in this pandemic scenario.

Manchester United and the rest of Britain is proud of Marcus Rashford and would even love him more if he would continue his on-field form with goals and assists to his name.
