English forward Marcus Rashford has stated that misfiring Manchester United are still capable of securing a spot inside the Premier League’s top four this season after the poor start.
United finished sixth on the Premier League table last term and have so far shown very few signs of improving on that position in their first full campaign under Norwegian boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Bournemouth which was their fourth defeat in 11 league games left the Red Devils 10 points adrift of the Champions League places and 10th on the table. Having endured their worst ever start to a season in the Premier League era
Leicester City and Chelsea as the two teams that United have beaten this season but they currently occupy the spots behind leaders Liverpool and champions Manchester City for a Champions League berth.
However, Marcus Rashford still believes that United can finish inside the top four and secure a Champions League spot but the 22-year-old has explained that it will be a tough “It’s going to be tough but it’s nowhere near impossible, We don’t need to focus on any other teams, we play our best football when we focus on ourselves and us improving. That’s the only way Man United play good football and we need to get back to doing that. It can be very simple for us and at the same time, you don’t want to make it complicated for yourself. The main thing is bouncing back.”
With a win in the midweek game against Partizan Belgrade, the red half of Manchester can look to string together a bunch of results once again in the Premier League to try and make up the ground.
