According to the latest reports, La Liga giants Real Madrid are willing to exchange midfield gem Isco Alarcon in return for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United had quite a torrid season in the Premier League as they finished in sixth place on the table and looked in dire need for reinforcements. Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already made a splash in the summer transfer window and wants to add some more high-quality players to his team in order to get United back to the summit of English football.
Although club talisman Paul Pogba has played an instrumental part for the majority of his Manchester United spell over the past season or so, he has also come under heavy criticism by some of the fans and the media as well for his flamboyance. If push comes to shove, the 46-year-old Solskjaer could decide to sell his 26-year-old World Cup winning French midfielder in order for a player who can help the club on an overall basis.
Pogba has been linked heavily with a move away from Old Trafford this summer and Spanish giants Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on the midfielder. Having already signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea in a £132 million deal, the Los Blancos might not have enough to spend in order to lure Pogba at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has insisted that he wants to get rid of Spanish midfielder Isco Alcaron even though manager Zinedine Zidane wants to keep him at the club as an option. But Zidane has also hinted at the possibility of Pogba joining Real Madrid and this could provoke a swap deal which takes place between the two midfielders.
Madrid is also willing to sweeten the deal by lending £40 million extra along with Isco in order to convince the English giants to send Pogba the other way. Isco has spent six seasons at Real Madrid but has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at the club but the Spanish international might decide a new challenge as well.
