Declan Rice insists he has no intentions of leaving West Ham in the near future after reports Manchester United are weighing up a move for the midfielder.
United have weighed up a move for the England international in the January window with the Red Devils looking light in midfield.
With United currently sitting in 12th position in the table and getting off to their worst start to the season since 1989, winning just two out of eight games in the Premier League they are tipped to make several signings in the January transfer window.
Declan Rice who signed a new five year deal with the London club last season has insisted that he is very much committed to the club.
‘I signed a five-year contract with West Ham last year, which will keep me at the club till I’m 24, and for me, this is the best place to be right now,’ he said.
‘I am playing for a manager who has given me my chance and played me week in, week out. ‘It’s all talk until something happens – and nothing has – so I’m just focused on West Ham, doing my best and making fans happy.’
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has targeted young British talent recently as opposed to United’s transfer policy of signing expensive foreign players.
West Ham would demand a massive fee for Rice were bigger clubs to come knocking and United are believed to be considering a £70million offer for the 20-year-old.
United welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford when club action resumes next week, with the Red Devils reportedly fearing a heavy defeat.
