There has been a lot of uproar and buzz regarding the signing of the 18-year-old Amad Diallo from Atalanta. Rio Ferdinand was all praise for the quality that the teenager possesses.
He even quoted references linked to Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo on his podcast which said,
“I don’t want to put the pressure of Ronaldo on him, but no-one knew about Ronaldo when we brought him other than the people in Portugal.”
Ferdinand wishes that the kid has the same impact on the club as the young Portuguese international once had but you have to agree with the fact that creating any links to Ronaldo or some other Manchester United legend will only bring more pressure on his young shoulders.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has been a big fan of the player and has closely been monitoring his development. Everyone who is associated with Manchester United is also really hyped up for the arrival of the youngster.
Amad Diallo is a versatile forward who has some great technical ability along with bolstering pace that can prove to be a nightmare for many defenders in the world. Many even consider him as a lower-cost alternative to Jadon Sancho but will only have to be developed over time.
He has mostly played as an inverted right-winger in the Atalanta youth set up and only time will tell how he adapts to the Premier League.
Manchester United has snapped up some great talent throughout Europe in the last few seasons but this one seems to be one of the most high-profile ones from the lot and everyone at the club is looking forward to integrating the Ivorian in their long-term plans.
