Roma winger Cengiz Under being looked at as Sancho alternative by Solskjaer

With Manchester United FC’s hunt for a right-winger on the go, Cengiz Under has been identified as a summer target. Ole Gunner Solskjaer is known to be desperate for wanting to sign a new attacker this summer for the Red Devils.

Under, who plays for Italian giants AS Roma, is considered to be one of the great prospects in the Serie A. The Turkish international signed for Roma in 2017 for a fee amounting to €13 million. The 22-year old winger has regularly featured for the Italian side in recent seasons.

The motive to sign Under stems from the reason that the player will cost less than Jadon Sancho or Federico Chiesa. The Red Devils have been priced out of a deal for Sancho in recent weeks. The English international is still rumoured to be Solskjaer’s top target for the upcoming transfer window.

The £115million amount being asked by Borussia Dortmund for Sancho is rather unnecessary to be made by Manchester United FC. Even with Sancho’s desire of playing at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are not able to finalize his signing.

Cengiz Under has developed leaps and bounds at Roma since joining them from Turkish side Basaksehir. The player has impressed scouts both in the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. However, it is believed that AS Roma would be willing to sell their player in the summer if a reasonable offer is received by them.

The 22-year old Turkish international has scored just three goals in the current Serie A campaign. Moreover, the player has struggled for form and consistency. However, Under is very talented on the flanks and has an eye for goal.

Several Premier League sides have declared their interest in signing Under. Arsenal FC, Everton FC, and Manchester City are the other English teams interested in signing the attacker. However, Manchester United FC could emerge as a frontrunner in the race to sign the player due to Solskjaer wanting to buy a winger.
