Former Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman believes that Manchester United will taste success under the guidance of Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager has been nothing short of a revelation since moving from Ajax in the summer.
He has already started building his philosophy which can be clearly noticed through the team’s improved performances this season. The Red Devils have won their last four league games and look strong ahead of their derby clash on October 2 against fierce rivals Manchester City.
United have unfortunately never witnessed such an amazing run of games since the time Sir Alex Ferguson took over. Even after experimenting with different managers, the Old Trafford fans have been unable to witness their team lift their Premier League trophy.
However, Ten Hag could break the jinx provided that he can get enough time to build his roots around the club. The players have been looking comfortable with his tactics and his more strict approach has kept everyone on their toes.
The former Netherlands and Barcelona manager Ronaldo Koeman was unable to taste success at the Spanish capital but he feels that the former Ajax manager could be able to guide United back to their best.
While speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
“United realise they have to give Erik time, and then United will come back, I’m sure of that. He will bring Manchester United back to the top of the Premier League”
The United board has recently revealed that they will be backing the manager for the upcoming transfer window but with limited funds. Football Director John Murtough has made it clear that they will not be witnessing a similar activity next summer.
However, the manager will be still aiming to sign a striker, a midfielder and a right-back for the right price. The team would strengthen even further if the club are able to improve its squad depth.
