Many people have been comparing Bruno Fernandes to Eric Cantona due to the instant impact that he has had at the club but Roy Keane dismisses any such link or relation.
Manchester United has been going through a tough time in the past few years and they also had the worst start to a season this time around but managed to change the tables and have become genuine title contenders with Liverpool having to deal with many issues on and off the pitch.
Bruno Fernandes has impressed lately but after a forgettable game against Manchester City, the club legend quoted that, “Fernandes Didn’t really do much tonight. The top players turn up on the big occasions and that’s what the Cantona’s used to do – they get their hands on trophies.”
Whilst Cantona was a great game-changer who certainly gave his all on the pitch other teammates were equally hungry and determined to win games for their teams. Apart from Bruno Fernandes and a few other players that sentiment seems to be lacking in the squad members.
I think you must already be tired of hearing the fact how Manchester United seems to falter on the big occasions and that may, in turn, be because of the pressure that is put on a few players to take care of the whole team.
Roy Keane may be right to dismiss any relations between Cantona and Bruno Fernandes as he hasn’t won anything substantial with the club yet but several other players in this squad need to be held accountable too.
While Eric Cantona won a plethora of accolades at Manchester United Bruno is still waiting for his first taste of silverware.
