Manchester United’s priority signing of Jadon Sancho still hasn’t made it to Old Trafford as United have failed to even place a bid for him. In one of the longest transfer sagas in recent history, the position of United to get Sancho is getting weaker with each passing day. With little or almost no noise regarding the English winger, many believe that United have lost the chance to sign Sancho.
It was largely believed that Jadon Sancho’s arrival at Manchester United would happen fairly quickly after United qualified for Champions League. But even a bid hasn’t gone for the Dortmund winger, with only a couple of weeks left in the transfer window and speculation indicating that Solskjaer was looking at other alternatives to Sancho for his side. The situation and frustration amongst the United fans are becoming darker and grimmer by each passing day and with no noise surrounding Sancho, many believe the worse is about to happen.
Once again Dortmund CEO has come out and said that Sancho will be staying at Dortmund this season and he is a very important player for the club. German football expert, Raphael Honigstein, in The Athletic’s Ornstein and Chapman podcast said: “I’m not sure he [Sancho] will dominate the rest of the transfer window! Certainly in Germany there’s almost nothing about this story.”
He also added that “United might find some money somewhere or Ed Woodward will win the EuroMillions and put a huge bid in. It doesn’t seem to be anticipated by anyone at Dortmund. At the moment, as things stand, most indications are that he will indeed stay.”
In what has become the story of the summer transfer window, Sancho’s move to United has become very unpredictable. Only time will tell if the winger becomes a Red Devils this summer.
