Manchester United No.10, Marcus Rashford has had a great start to the season, scoring goals in the Premier League and the Champions League. The winger scored his first senior-level hat-trick against RB Leipzig last week but had a poor game against minnows Istanbul Basaksehir. In his recent talk at BT Sports former Manchester United midfielder and club legend Paul Scholes has given Rashford advice which will help him get better.
Marcus Rashford scored a hat-trick against RB Leipzig after coming on late in the second half, shoeing his drive. But it has been now proven that the winger doesn’t do well when teams sit back deep and defend, where Rashford doesn’t get space to run onto. Thus, he was barely a spectator against the Turkish club last night, as they didn’t give him space to run onto.
In his talk, Scholes said: “Players need to know their strengths. Marcus’ strengths is running in behind, Mason Greenwood’s strength is running in behind because of his pace. Now if you’ve got time on the ball you should be able to play that ball over the top to them. If you’re a central midfielder for Manchester United you should be able to play that ball over the top.”
Marcus Rashford is a very one-dimensional player at the moment and only plays well on the counter-attack. He needs to demand more from himself as well as the midfielders in the team so that he can make better runs and create more chances.
