Paul Scholes was one of Manchester United’s greatest players ever and since retirement, he has been in the TV as a pundit. The Englishman has been very vocal about the current scenario of Manchester United and what needs to be done by the club to be successful again. In his recent interview with Stadium Astro, Scholes suggested that United need to sign Harry Kane or Erling Haaland instead of Jadon Sancho.
Manchester United were heavily linked with Jadon Sancho for the entire summer only to pull the plug on a move on the deadline day. A right-winger was a priority signing for Manchester United this season even though many pundits said they needed a proper No.9. The Red Devils have signed Edinson Cavani but the Uruguayan is well near the twilight of his career.
In his latest talk, Scholes said: “There’s been a lot of money spent but has it been spent on the first choices these managers want? I’m not too sure. I think van Gaal and Mourinho especially had a moan about that and it’s understandable when they aren’t getting the players they want. I think Ole’s been supported.”
Anthony Martial did well last season, but his form has dipped this season and he hasn’t been consistent in his career yet. Manchester United surely need a consistent striker with guaranteed goals to have better chances of winning silverware. Someone like Harry Kane or Erling Haaland who has been consistently scoring goals might be a better help to the Red Devils than Jadon Sancho.
