Injury Update

Scott McTominay set to return against Watford

Scott McTominay, a Manchester United midfielder, missed the November international break due to sickness, but says he has “recovered nicely.”

McTominay, 25, gave fans an update before Scotland’s 2-0 win over Denmark on Monday, and it’s excellent news for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has the Reds back in action this weekend.

Through his Instagram account, he said:

“Tough one to take not being available to help the boys this past week through not being well but I’ve recovered well and just want to wish the squad the best of luck for tonight.”

He had been called up to the Scotland squad but had to withdraw due to a throat infection.

United, on the other hand, goes to Watford in the Premier League on Saturday and will be missing many key players, including Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba, owing to injury.

Solskjaer’s team selection would be severely limited if McTominay were to miss any more games, but that does not appear to be the case. The manager is under increasing pressure to produce results, and having McTominay back in the lineup will only help us.

Scotland has also qualified for next year’s World Cup, which will be held in Qatar amid controversy, so McTominay has a significant competition to look forward to and will be excited about.

Given the club’s injury problems, this would be good news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Raphael Varane has already been ruled out after suffering an injury prior to the international break. Under Solskjaer, McTominay has been a regular for the club. The Norwegian will welcome the return of a player in whom he has faith.

Paul Pogba was injured during a training session with France and will be out for the next two months. Edinson Cavani has a tendon problem and is a doubt for the encounter against Watford. After taking a knock to the head in the Manchester derby, Luke Shaw is continuing to follow treatment.

These are four key players for the team, and replacing them will be difficult. As a result, McTominay’s return has come at the perfect time. For the forthcoming key matches against Watford, Villarreal, and Chelsea, Solskjaer will be praying that the Scot remains fit.
