As reported by the club’s official website, Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay will miss the club’s next league match against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Scotland star received his fifth yellow card this season during the last few minutes of United’s 2-1 victory against Everton. Hence, the 25-year-old will serve his one-match suspension when the Magpies travel to the theatre of dreams this weekend.
McTominay will be eligible to feature for United against Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League at home on Thursday, but he must sit out the match against the Magpies.
After defeating Frank Lampard’s side, the Red Devils surpassed Newcastle in the Premier League standings, moving up to fifth place while Newcastle slid to sixth.
Five minutes into the game, the Toffees took the lead thanks to a superb shot from Alex Iwobi. Fortunately for Ten Hag, his team equalised ten minutes later when Antony scored a record goal.
Later in the first half, Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed onto a through pass from Casemiro and scored his 700th club career goal.
Ten Hag was pleased with his side’s comeback victory as the club became the first Premier League team to win 100 games after falling a game behind.
