Shaw Has Bruno Fernandes message for United fans

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has warned that there is so much more to come from winter arrival Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford.

Fernandes has been a revelation for the Red Devils since arriving from Sporting CP in the January market, adding two goals and three assists in five Premier League matches so far.

The Portuguese international brilliantly teed up French forward Anthony Martial in Sunday’s 2-0 derby victory over Manchester City at the Theatre of Dreams. His quick free-kick helped in breaking the deadlock before Scott McTominay’s stoppage-time strike late in the second half

Fernandes has been praised for his superb performances so far and team-mate Shaw joined the list following the Manchester showdown which helped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team into 5th place on the Premier League.

While speaking to reporters the 26-year-old Manchester United left-back said that Fernandes has the ability to unlock tight defences, “At times we know he’s going to lose possession, but we need the sort of risk passes that are going to unlock defences, He’s been a brilliant signing so far and he’s already come in with a few assists and a few important goals. We will keep pushing the standards and we’ll keep pushing him because there’s so much more from him to come.”

Solskjaer’s team now sits only three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the race for the last Champions League spot. United appear to have turned a new leaf since the turn of the year as they are remaining unbeaten in 10 games across all competitions.
