According to the Daily Express, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expecting a disappointing outcome similar to last year’s failed attempt to acquire Chelsea Football Club.
The report suggests that the INEOS chief is becoming less optimistic about his bid to purchase Manchester United, with Sheikh Jassim emerging as a winning contender.
Ratcliffe experienced defeat in his previous bid to acquire Chelsea, losing out to Todd Boehly, who successfully completed the club’s takeover.
Sheikh Jassim is currently the frontrunner in the race to buy Man United. After making progress in talks with the Glazers, he has submitted five offers, which is causing concern for Ratcliffe.

The Britan businessman is facing the possibility of history repeating itself, as he previously experienced a similar situation when attempting to buy Chelsea.
The Glazers had confirmed their openness to selling United back in November, and although the process has had its ups and downs, Sheikh Jassim is now leading the charge to purchase the club.
There were moments when the Qatari billionaire considered giving up, as tensions escalated and the process became lengthy.
However, after recently presenting his fifth bid, Sheikh Jassim is now getting closer to completing what could be the largest takeover in football history.
This turn of events is disappointing for Ratcliffe, as it reminds him of his unsuccessful Chelsea bid.

Despite claiming to be a devoted United fan, Ratcliffe seized the opportunity to bid for Chelsea when Roman Abramovich decided to sell due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The fans will be now hoping that the Glazers will move out as quickly as possible and hand over all the rights to Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim.
