Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s potential Manchester United takeover is expected to have repercussions on OGC Nice’s transfer strategy this summer, as reported by L’Equipe.
Ratcliffe, who already owns the French club, is pursuing a takeover of the Red Devils. However, this development may come at a cost for Nice, as they could face the departure of key players such as Jean-Clair Todibo and Khephren Thuram.
The challenge for Nice will be to secure sufficient funds to acquire suitable replacements amid the potential financial impact of Ratcliffe’s acquisition of Man United.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has fallen short of meeting the Glazers’ desired price of £6 billion. His offer of £5 billion, coupled with a plan for a complete takeover of the club over a three-year period, has been put forward.
However, he faces strong competition from Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani in the bid to acquire the club. It is anticipated that an announcement of a preferred bidder will be made this week, indicating progress in the ownership transfer process.
If Ratcliffe successfully acquires Man United, it is expected to have a negative impact on OGC Nice’s summer transfer budget.

Ratcliffe, despite being the second-richest person in the UK, will likely prioritize his attention and resources towards the Red Devils.
This could potentially limit Nice’s ability to secure quality players during the transfer window, as significant financial resources would be directed towards Man United.
While Nice manager Didier Digard has expressed his support for Ratcliffe’s potential ownership of Man United, there are no guarantees yet, as Sheikh Jassim could still outbid Ratcliffe for the club.
Both parties are currently finalizing deal details with the Raine Group, and the Qataris appear to be more confident in their chances.
