Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a four-man star-studded player’s shopping list for the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Mirror says Solskjaer has emphasized the need to bring quality players into the squad as the club needs major reinforcement heading towards next season.
Solskjaer needs Tottenham striker Harry Kane, Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, Villarreal defender Pau Torres, and West Ham’s defensive midfielder Declan Rice.
Every one of the four would cost the club a huge amount of money, possibly totaling up to £300m, while Solskjaer is likewise aware of the way that these players will help United compete for trophies next season.
Of the four, Sancho is viewed as the most attainable target with talks held in 2020 and Borussia Dortmund glad to sell him at a less expensive cost than the previous summer.
Manchester United may need to get some new faces as it was quite clear against Villarreal where their defensive problems were exposed. United couldn’t create much on the attack, the wing position was less creative.
Sancho was one of the high-profile targets for United last summer but still United couldn’t get him as his price was too high(£120m) at that time. Currently, his price has been decreased to £85m which is beneficial for United. The price is still high but for a player of his quality, it will pay off.
Torres will be available for around £30m whereas Declan Rice and Harry Kane will easily cost around £100m each. So the spending spree will certainly not fall below the £300m range.
Solskajer will have the financial support to make it possible as the Glazer family had said a few weeks back that will be supporting United in this transfer window and are ready to invest more into the squad.
This transfer window will be the most exciting to watch.
