Manchester United coach has said that he is still in contact with the young Dortmund superstar. He still admires the young striker and has still not ruled out a move for the young Norweigan.
Haaland was once closely linked to Manchester United and Solksjaer tried everything possible to lure him to Manchester United. Solksjaer had coached Erling Haaland during their time at Molde FC.
Erling Haaland has been in sensational form for the Germans. Till now he has scored 43 goals in 43 appearances for Dortmund and is in no mood to stop his goal-scoring spree.
Solksjaer still relishes to coach Haaland again and has been in constant contact with him.
Solksjaer said: “I think when you have had kids and players through as a coach, you follow them, of course, and I keep in touch with Erling. So it’s great to see him become the player he has become and I know he’ll work to improve all the time. He’s a Dortmund player. We just wish him well there and then let’s see what life will bring later on. Who wasn’t interested in him a year ago? Because everyone would say you’d take the best players in the world and Erling is a top player.”
Solskjaer is well aware of the fact that Haaland has been chased by many other teams. Right now there is heavy competition for the striker and Solksajer needs to maintain a good rapport with the striker to convince him to join his club.
Only Haaland and his agent Raiola can decide his fate. Raiola has a very blunt relationship with Manchester United and it will be interesting to see how this matter unfolds as any complications will dither the progress of the young striker. Only time will tell whether Haaland will search for a new club or will stay at Dortmund and continue his progress there.
