Solskjaer praises Manchester United striker Anthony Martial after the derby win.
Addressing Sky Sports, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brimming with lavish words for Manchester United star Anthony Martial after his noteworthy presentation against Manchester City.
Solksjaer said: “I thought Anthony was absolutely superb today. He was more of the Anthony of old. Until two hours before the game, until after the warm-up to be fair, I wasn’t sure if he was going to play or not. So fantastic.”
The Frenchman got back to the firing line-up in the wake of missing the last game against Crystal Palace. He proceeded to have a quick effect by winning a penalty in the absolute first moment. Bruno Fernandes changed the game from the spot to give the Red Devils the best possible start after just 101 seconds. They never hoped to waste it and proceeded to dominate the match 2-0.
The game indeed exhibited the effect Martial can have when he is at his best. The 25-year-old has all the ability on the planet yet has neglected to exhibit it consistently.
Falling off a knee injury supported in preparing, he was an uncertainty for the previous game. Yet, he was all set from the beginning and one would be pardoned for speculation he was even harmed. Injuries have further hindered his progress in this season.
Anthony Martial was Untied’s top scorer in 2019/20 with 23 goals taking all things together this season. While there was trust that he had at last turned a corner, it ends up being a tactless act. There could be no more excellent time than now to turn his profession around and it stays not yet clear if the Frenchman will take it.
A goal from Martial will provide more steam to his progress and will also help him flush down his loss of confidence.
