Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given a report on Juan Mata’s future at Manchester United, with the Spaniard’s contract set to terminate this late summer.
Juan Mata joined Manchester United in 2014 and has been an incredible player for the club, scoring 50 goals and providing 47 assists in his 271 appearances for the Red Devils.
In any case, Mata has become undesirable, showing up in the course of the last two seasons to start talks about his future. United has an alternative to expanding his agreement by an additional year, yet an understanding has not yet been reached.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now uncovered that he will be addressing Mata about his future.
Solksjaer while talking to the club’s official website has said: “I’ve kept the dialogue with Juan, and we’re due to speak again very soon. Of course, he’s not played as much as he’d like and that’s a decision that we’ll make with him. He’s in charge of his own future and he’s been such a good servant for the club. But of course, it’s hard, as I’ve said so many times, to leave good players out, good people out of the team. It’s about what does he want as his next step in his career? Is it [to] still play out his career here, or is it going somewhere else? We haven’t made a final decision yet.”
While Mata has been a splendid player for United, he ought to think about leaving this late spring. At 33-years of age, Mata needs to capitalize on his leftover years in football, and playing eight Premier League games this season isn’t sufficient for a player of his quality.
The Spaniard should take motivation from previous Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla, who was wonderful for Arsenal and then joined Villarreal later. The playmaker scored 11 goals and helped 10 out of 35 La Liga appearances in the 2019/20 season prior to joining Al-Sadd in Qatar the previous summer.
A re-visitation of Valencia for Mata would be an alluring deal for both the club and the player.
