Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane and the current United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are good friends and were ex-teammates as well. Keane has always been a supporter of Solskjaer but has also criticized the players of the United squad. In his latest pre-match press conference, Solskjaer has talked about Roy Keane’s recent comments on leadership in the Manchester United squad, after the team’s loss to Arsenal.
It was earlier reported that Roy Keane has heavily criticized the likes of Pogba and Maguire, for the lack of leadership at Manchester United. Maguire has already hit back at Keane, which was rather disrespectful of some kind. But there is no doubt that the Red Devils lack leaders and consistency as the form in the Champions League has been great but poor in the Premier League.
In the press conference, Solskjaer said: “Roy has always been outspoken. I’m very glad we have the players we’ve got here. We’ve got different jobs and Roy’s job is to give his opinion and I always listen to Roy, but we always move on with a great group of players and I’m sure we’ll see a response.”
Roy Keane has been always critical of Manchester United and the club’s players, which is his way of showing passion for the club. The current crop of the Red Devils surely have the talent and potential to make it to the very top but seem to lack the attitude. Solskjaer would want Manchester United to do well this season if he has to save his job at Old Trafford.
