Solskjaer Admits Pogba is Working Hard For His Return

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that Paul Pogba is doing everything possible to get fit to get back to the first-team action amid ongoing speculation over his future.

The 26-year-old midfielder has not played since the end of September and appears likely to remain on the sidelines when the Red Devils make the trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Sunday.

The World Cup winner battled an ankle injury before a poorly timed illness further delayed his return and following that was his brother’s wedding which extended his date of a comeback.

However, the 46-year-old Solskjaer recently admitted that the Real Madrid transfer target would not be sold in the January transfer market and remains confident about his commitment to the 20-time Premier League champions.

While speaking to reporters, the Norwegian explained that Pogba is trying his best to get back onto the pitch as soon as possible  “All I can say is that Paul is working as hard as he can to get back and you will see him smile again as soon as he’s back on the pitch,”

Solskjaer further added that Pogba is one of the best players in the world but he needs to return to his fitness before he can get back to playing as a regular, “He is a Manchester United player, someone we are really happy to have in the squad and one of the best players in the world, but he needs to be fit. Being out for a long time like Paul is the worst thing that can happen to a player because everyone wants to play”

Pogba is likely to return to action for Manchester United in the New Year following his injury and United fans will be hoping that he performs to the best of his ability.
