Manchester United are back in the Champions League later tonight as the Red Devils play host to Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir. The starting lineup of the team is expected to have a few changes from United’s last game against West Brom, in the Premier League. In his latest press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has thrown more light on the squad that will be available for tonight’s game in the Champions League.
Manchester United had several stars missing from the squad due to injuries against West Brom a couple of days ago. The likes of Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood were surprisingly absent which raised some eyebrows across the United fanbase. In his press conference, Solskjaer has talked about the players who are doubtful for the game against Basaksehir.
In his recent press conference, Solskjaer said: “We hope that the lads will recover quickly. Luke [Shaw] is out, Phil Jones [is] obviously out, still. Jesse is still self-isolating because he’s been in contact with a COVID positive. He’ll be back soon. I hope Paul is going to be available. He trained this morning.”
Despite all the niggles, Manchester United will be expected to win the game handsomely despite losing from Basaksehir the last time around. Solskjaer will be expected to put forward a strong lineup as he hopes to get his superstars back to full fitness very soon. Pogba might feature in tonight’s game as he will look to get his Manchester United career back on track.
