Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has once again compared Marcus Rashford to Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo following the Red Devils’ win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day.
The English forward scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season, which is now the best tally in his senior campaign, in the 4-1 Boxing Day victory against Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
The Norwegian boss has compared the 22-year-old attacker to former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo previously and the manager did so once again after Rashford’s superb header pretty much sealed the win.
While speaking about Rashford, the 46-year-old boss went on to compare his young forward to Juventus and Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo comparing the two players’ physicality as he works extremely hard in the gym as well as taking care of himself to perform at the best of his abilities, “He is a physical specimen. He’s looking after himself, working hard in the gym, When you’ve got that spring, it’s just about having the courage and getting up there. I remember a boy I used to play with that used to head it quite well when he was close to the goal. And we compare them quite often. So, that’s another string to his bow Marcus that Cristiano used to get when he was getting to that age as well.”
French forward Anthony Martial netted a brace and 18-year-old teenage sensation Mason Greenwood also scored against the visiting Newcastle, who had taken the lead through Matty Longstaff’s early precise strike.
Even Anthony Martial is now up to six goals for the season and hopefully, he can continue his goalscoring form for the remainder of the campaign.
