Solskjaer complaining over FA Cup scheduling

Manchester United FC face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final later today, after playing Crystal Palace less than 72 hours ago. The Red Devils manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t pleased with the scheduling of the FA Cup and has been vocal about it. Also, Chelsea get about 48 hours extra rest than the United players which hasn’t been accepted well by Solskjaer.

The Red Devils are currently on a 19-game unbeaten streak and will look to make it 20 straight games unbeaten today. Chelsea have faced the Red Devils thrice this season, as United have defeated the Londoners all the three times. The Blues of Chelsea will be looking to make it a fourth-time lucky affair, as both sides gear up to win silverware.

The FA Cup is the only chance for Chelsea to win silverware this season, whereas United have Europa League as well. It will be fair to say that the managers have been in a war of words before the game. Lampard has openly said that United have been frequently helped by VAR and his Chelsea side must be careful.

On the other hand, Solskjaer has said that Chelsea is getting 48 hours of extra rest, giving them an upper hand. Both the managers are right in their terms and will be determined to get the better of one another. United are the favourites to win the tie, but Chelsea will surely give them a run for their money.

Both the teams are in an important stage of their seasons and are separated by only a point in the Premier League. Chelsea and United both are looking to get a top-four finish and one wrong step can derail their seasons. Thus, it is predicted that both sides will rest some of their important players because of matches in the Premier League.

Luke Shaw, Ngolo Kante, Billy Gilmour will miss the match due to injuries they have endured lately. Manchester United will be favourites to win this game considering their form attacking prowess. It will surely be an intriguing game with end to end football which will be joyful for the neutrals.
