Solskjaer: Don’t even start, don’t disrespect my players

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave a perfect response to critics questioning his player’s loyalty towards him.

The Norweigan manager was talking to the press after the match and was not at all happy when this question was thrown at him by the reporters. Solskjaer made sure that his players are kept away from such rubbish claims and he rightly protected his players.

Manchester United defeated Atalanta by a 3-2 scoreline and made a solid comeback which needs applause and the question itself gets its answer from the player’s performances. They played for the club and didn’t let the club and the fans down.

As reported by EuroSport, Solskjaer said:

“Don’t even start. Don’t disrespect the players. They play for Manchester United and they know they are the luckiest men in the world. I said to them that tonight they are the luckiest men in the world because the 11 plus the subs, they are the ones who can play for Man United and that is what so many millions of boys and girls want to do.”

The players were looking out of ideas by half-time as Atalanta were 0-2 up but they gave a perfect response in the second half. It not only saved our match but also saved the manager from getting criticism.

Had the players kept that half-time score intact, Solskjaer could have been close to getting sacked as United has very tough games against Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Chelsea in the coming weeks.

Solskjaer has always protected his players in public and has made it clear that he didn’t give any special speech to the players regarding him or the match. He just told them to create more and take their chances.

The improvement was there to see, as goals from Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, and Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a vital win from the clutches of Atalanta. Manchester United is now sitting at the top of their group in the Champions League and will be looking to improve further against Liverpool.
