Solskjaer Has Been Brilliant Says Keane

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has admitted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing a great job at the club and has backed him to get more time to get better.

The Red Devils were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Monday night and that recorded their worst ever start to a Premier League campaign. Solskjaer’s team has managed to notch up only nine points on the board after seven games into the new season and is languishing in 10th spot on the League table.

The Norwegian has come under immense pressure with his job as United fans are disappointed with the poor quality of football as well as the results. But former United and Ireland captain Roy Keane believes that Solskjaer is doing a brilliant job.

While speaking to Sky Sports, the 48 year old Keane said that Solskjaer needs time because he is helping young players grow and it is difficult to start from scratch, “I think he has been brilliant, a good honest guy, It is hard work at the moment, but there are six or seven young players learning their way. We’re all very impatient, we want success yesterday, but you have to give the man time.”

Keane went on to explain that the 46-year-old will be disappointed but he is doing a great job by not expressing his rage, “He is frustrated, under pressure, but dealing with it. He’s a classy guy but no doubt he will be disappointed at not winning enough games. They have given him the job; support him in a couple of transfer windows. Are there more tough days ahead? You bet your life, but you need to stick with it. There was a lack of quality from both teams tonight. Their lack of goals, the lack of opportunities they’re creating. Give these boys time.”
