Eric Bailly hasn’t had the best of careers at Manchester United as he would have wanted, mostly because of his injuries. The Ivorian defenders has all the attributes to become a world-class player but he hasn’t been able to cement his place and form because of his injury woes. In his latest pre-match interview with MUTV, Solskjaer has talked about Bailly and his near future with United.
United have been in the lookout of a centre-back this summer but have failed to sign any defender yet. The Red Devils were shambolic defensively against Crystal Palace in a 3-0 loss to the South London outfit as Victor Lindelof had a hand in all of Eagles goals. Bailly partnered Maguire in United’s last game in the Carabao Cup and with his good performance, it is expected of Solskjaer to start him in the weekend.
In his pre-match talk, Solskjaer said: “Eric is fit again – a big, big plus – and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop and play more games. We’ve been waiting for him to be fit and play more regularly.” With these words, it is easy to predict that Bailly is very likely to start against Brighton and Hove Albion.
United are expected to come back to winning ways on Saturday and a centre-back pairing of Bailly and Maguire is imminent to start for the Red Devils.
