Anthony Martial is arguably having his best season in his footballing career and has made the No.9 position his own at Old Trafford. The Frenchman has been stunning for Manchester United this season and is also their top-scorer of the season with 23 goals. Solskjaer, who was lethal striker himself, has been full of praise for Martial before tonight’s game against Copenhagen in the Europa League.
Martial is playing the best football of his life yet having scored the combined tally of the last two seasons, this season. His form has been great lately and Solskjaer has been vocal about Martial’s progress. The manager made it clear to make it a point to let everyone who of Martial saying “He’s in the gym a lot working on his fitness and strength.”
Solskjaer has even gone on to say that “Anto has made huge strides this season in many aspects of his game. I like him scoring, him being in-between the posts, the simple goals. We know he can do worldies, like he’s done a few times.”
It has been a year of Martial getting his No.9 shirt back after the departure of Romelu Lukaku last summer. The mercurial Frenchman has done well to keep the No.9 shirt for next season and a few more seasons to come.
