Solskjaer is very content with Manchester United’s left-back situation

Manchester United struggled in the left-back spot last season, with a couple of injuries to Luke Shaw keeping him out of action. Brandan Williams had a great breakthrough season, but with Alex Telles, the left-back position has been strengthened two-folds. In his recent press conference, Solskjaer has hailed the left-back situation at Manchester United as he can choose from Shaw, Telles and Brandon Williams.

The Red Devils signed Alex Telles on the last days of the summer transfer window this year from Porto. It was some quality business done by the Red Devils, as Telles is one of the best left-backs in the world. With Shaw’s hamstring injury, Telles has a huge chance of making his Premier League debut later tonight against West Brom.

In his press conference, Solskjaer said: “We’ve got options at full-back, so I’m not worried about that. Luke was in very good form, he was, as all of us [were], getting momentum and getting better and better. Telles has had a troubled time since he came, He’s already been on two international breaks, had COVID after he played really well for the 70 minutes he played against PSG. He’s not really played for Brazil.”

The signing of Telles will allow Solskjaer with a lot of options, system and formation wise as well. The Brazilian is one of the most creative full-backs in the world and has got a hammer of a left foot. The United fanbase and the board along with Solskjaer will hope that Telles does well for the Red Devils just like he did for his former club, Porto.
