Manchester United FC have been reportedly busy in the search of a central striker this summer transfer window. Having achieved guaranteed Champions League football next season, Solskjaer is keen on bolstering his attacking options to add depth to his squad. The Red Devils are now looking at their former Academy graduate Josh King, who has been relegated with Bournemouth this season.
United are in search of another striker despite Martial having his best season ever and the signing of Odion Ighalo. But Ighalo is on-loan at United and will be there at Old Trafford only till the January of 2021. Solskjaer is desperate for the attacking department to not run out of steam next season even if one of the strikers gets injured.
The Red Devils are currently considering bringing back their graduate Josh King from Bournemouth. Bournemouth got relegated from the Premier League on the last game of this season and will look to sell their best players. The Cherries will not be able to pay the wages of their best players and are reportedly keen on selling players.
In the January transfer window, when Rashford was injured, Solskjaer tried to sign Josh King but was set back by the price tag. Having failed to secure King’s services earlier, it is reported that United are back to sign the Norwegian. Solskjaer has previously worked with Josh King in the United Academy and has good relations with Kings’ agents.
Josh King has played 26 games in the Premier League this season and has scored only six goals, providing four assists. The 28-year old Norwegian can play on the wings, as a No.10 as well as in the centre-forward position. King left Old Trafford in 2015 but the board at looking at him as a cheap option for an alternative striker.
The United board members are considering to move for Josh King if they don’t secure the services of any start striker. United surely need to add players in their attacking department because of their involvement in the Champions League next season. Numerous transfer sagas involving United have taken place but this deal seems easy if the club is interested.
