Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at January signings for the Premier League giants, saying that the club was “looking at one or two” possible additions in the transfer market.
The Red Devils fell to a 2-0 loss against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday and that result left in fifth place on the Premier League table, sitting five points behind Chelsea in the fourth spot.
One huge area of concern lies in the central midfield zone as Paul Pogba (ankle) and Scott McTominay (knee) with respective injuries are set to be sidelined for several weeks.
Manchester United has had an extremely inconsistent start to the new season so far and Solskjaer has stated that he would like to make signings in the January transfer market but added it would only be if United could find the right players that fit their style of play.
While speaking to reporters earlier today, the Norwegian explained that his side might need a few more additions in the January transfer window, possibly one or two signings, “You can see the squad and sometimes you think, yeah, one or two additions would do nicely because we are building towards something, It just depends on if what we think will be right for us will be available. Of course, it’s playing on our decision-making when we’ve got two players out for a bit, Scott for two months and Paul for a month.”
United offloaded Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in the summer transfer market and failed to find a replacement for the Belgian and the transfer board came under heavy criticism at the time.
