Solskjaer Opens Up On Haaland Future

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland “knows what he wants to do” amid increasing speculation about the attacker joining the Red Devils, who drew 1-1 at Old Trafford against Everton on Sunday thanks to Mason Greenwood’s equalizing goal.

Solskjaer described 18-year-old Mason Greenwood as “different class” in his post-match news conference, but the talk soon turned towards 19-year-old Norway forward Haaland.

Haaland has been in great goalscoring form for Austrian outfit as they are top of the Austrian Bundesliga table and has attracted heavy interest from several suitors across the European continent.

Reports have suggested the United boss could be given the resources and funds to bring his national compatriot to Old Trafford after Salzburg were dumped out of the Champions League.

However, Solskjaer hinted at possible suspicions that Haaland would make the move to Old Trafford in the January transfer window but also admitted that he does not want to comment too much on the teenager, “I don’t comment on those speculations. [Haaland] knows what he wants to do, and he knows what he’s going to do, so I don’t have to give any advice to any other team’s players.”

The 46-year-old then discussed Greenwood’s goal in the Europa League and showered praise on the young English forward as he said that it is very natural for the youngster in front of the goal, “It’s so natural for him. He just knows exactly what to do. Too many chances are missed with strikers rushing the finish, stressing, but the best ones have that little extra half a second, and he does.”
