Despite the fact that Manchester United have had an awful overall summer transfer window, they have made some good signings as well. The signing of Alex Telles is surely one of United’s best transfer business, this summer, as the squad needed a left-footed left-back. The signing of Telles has made Solskjaer delighted, as he surely wanted another left-back in the squad and he has expressed his joy.
The signing of Alex Telles might prove to be instrumental in United’s season as he is experienced and much better going forward than Luke Shaw. With Shaw’s injury woes, Telles will help United and even has a great chance of replacing Shaw at the left-back berth. With the addition of Alex Telles, Brandon Williams will now move to his natural right-back place and will provide competition to Wan-Bissaka.
In his latest talk with Manchester United’s Official Website, Solskjaer said: “He is a player we have been tracking for some time and his performances over the past few years are exactly what we are looking for. He is a fighter and a winner and will add real determination and competition to the squad.”
Looking at his price tag and his experience, Telles is surely the best deal for United this summer. The 27-year old is at the peak of his career, and surely offers more options going forward, although his defensive side will be put to test in the Premier League.
