Solskjaer’s goalkeeper dilemma

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a huge decision to make regarding his goalkeeping department this summer, before the start of the next season. The problems are because of David De Gea’s slump of form coupled with Dean Henderson’s emergence and his willingness to be United’s No.1. Romero has also attracted several suitors including newly-promoted Leeds United, thus Solskjaer has a few tough weeks ahead of him.

It was earlier reported that Dean Henderson had made it clear to Solskjaer about his willingness to take up the reins at Old Trafford. The Englishman is confident of skills and talent and believes he has all that it takes to be United’s goalkeeper. Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Henderson’s situation at United and will try their best to lure him to London.

Romero has reportedly been let down by Solskjaer after the Norwegian decided to start with De Gea in the FA Cup semi-final clash. When asked about the goalkeeping situation Solskjaer said “I must be the most privileged manager in the world with our goalkeeping department. It’ll be difficult to keep three of them, so we’ll see what the decision will be there.”

Ed Woodward and Solskjaer both have a decision to make regarding the future of the goalkeepers, and thus it will be interesting to see how things pan out.
