Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a dead-man walking at Manchester United by December 2019, because of a poor string of results. But the Norwegian has recovered well since then, as United has lost only two games since January to end the season. In last night’s press conference Solskjaer was vocal about the need for spending in the transfer market to reach where the club has always been historically.
United ended their season after they were handed defeat against Sevilla when tough the Red Devils dominated the game. Solskjaer was vocal about the need for transfers in the pre-match press conference and did the same in the post-match conference. The Norwegian need some quality signings from the board to reach the pinnacle of success.
When asked about transfers, Solskjaer replied with “I cannot say when or if transfers will be done but we are looking at it and we’ll have to sit down because it’s a quick turnaround. We’ve got to be 100 per cent sure when we make those deals.” He also added that “It’s not about marquee, it’s about quality. You need to have the right player, the right personality, someone who fits into the group and makes us better.”
The United manager has pleaded for transfers twice in the span of just 24 hours. And now the board needs to back Solskjaer by getting him the players he needs.
