Tomas Soucek was given a questionable red card in the dying minutes of the game as his hand clashed into Mitrovic even though there was no malice in the action.
Mitrovic was also trying to gesture that it wasn’t a direct red card which resulted in a lot of drama after the game. It again highlighted the inconsistency that has been attributed to VAR ever since its inception.
The referee was advised to have a look at the monitor for himself and everyone including some of the Fulham players were shocked when he showed a red card to Soucek that too in stoppage time. West Ham had appealed the decision and it has been overturned which means that he will be available for the FA Cup tie against Manchester United. Soucek has been an important part of the West Ham lineup this season.
Confirmed. Tomas Soucek red card overturned. Can play for @WestHam at Man Utd.

His contribution to the team cannot be questioned and it would certainly have been a big blow if he wasn’t available for the tie against Manchester United. David Moyes has done a decent job with this West Ham team. He has brought West Ham to the brink of European qualification and it was only some time ago that they used to struggle in the bottom half of the table. Some smart transfers and loan moves have made them a side to be reckoned with.
They seem to be enjoying their football at the moment and the tie at Old Trafford could be a great place for David Moyes to get revenge on his former club. Tomas Soucek has scored 8 goals in 23 appearances this season and always looks like a threat for West Ham when he goes forward. Manchester United will have to keep an eye out and would certainly want to have a better result than the one against Everton.
