Manchester United will play Southampton on Saturday. United made a huge impact on their mentality by defeating Liverpool and ending their 21-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.
Southampton on the other hand looks well prepared for the game as well. Leicester City dominated the entire game against Southampton but all their efforts went in vain as they made a brilliant comeback. The game ended with a 1-2 victory for Southampton.
Che Adams scored a wonderful bicycle goal which made the away fans give him a standing ovation. Southampton so far have established the fact that they can try to dominate their opponents and more importantly snatch those crucial points. The last time these two teams faced the game ended with a 1-1 draw. Jadon Sancho scored for the Reds which was assisted by Marcus Rashford in the 21st minute of the game. Che Adams made the score line even just as the 2nd half whistle blew. United had 52% of the possession and despite trying all their efforts to score one back, they defended well to secure a point out of it.
Erik Ten Hag has surely found the potential that each of the new summer signings has. Lisandro Martinez who side-lined with Varane for the very first time saw United’s best game of the year. Harry Maguire was left out of the starting XI giving Bruno Fernandes the captain armband. Most interestingly, Ronaldo was left out as well, giving Anthony Elanga the starting position. Martial might be the answer to the attacking front three of United against Southampton.
Jadon Sancho who scored a fabulous goal leaving James Milner and Van Dijk helpless in front of the goal and marking United’s first goal of the night. Rashford, later on, went on scoring the second goal of the night. Scott Mctominay was top-notch the other day as well. Diego Dalot and Malacia who controlled the entire full backs the other day are once again expected to start against Southampton.
Che Adams and James Word Process are the only two players that United defenders need to keep in check. The amount of confidence that must have been generated after the Derby result should help United to come up higher in the league.
