Manchester United wins two consecutive Premier League games after February. After losing to Brighton in the opening day and getting absolutely battered against Brentford by a 4-0 score line, Manchester United are finally back on the right track.
Chances were very scarce in the early stages of the game. However, in the 20th minute of the game, the United supporters were left clueless as to how United missed that golden opportunity to have the upper hand. Eriksen’s shot was brilliantly blocked by the Southampton defender.
Che Adam’s was the only player who kept on posing threats to the United defence. Just before the halftime whistle, Scott Mctominay was fouled just at the edge of the penalty box. Bruno Fernandes took it, but the ball was blocked.
United kept constant pressure on the home side, denying them every chance they were getting. Meanwhile, United’s attacking front looked excessively composed. Ten minutes later United were rewarded with a goal.
Diego Dalot put forward a superb pass from the right side of the flank to Bruno Fernandes. Bruno is known for making those timely runs inside the box, which once again rewarded him as well as the team with a much-deserved goal.
David De Gea made an excellent save to stop Joe Arido’s header just before the 60th minute. United have slipped an innumerable number of games while leading but this time, United kept their heads high.
Our new central back duo- Rafael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are looking to be a menace. If this duo flourishes under Ten Hag’s guidance, United will once again become a team that no one wants to face.
Lisandro Martinez has won a higher % of his aerials duels in the Premier League this season than:
LISANDRO MARTINEZ – 83%
Kalidou Koulibaly – 75%
William Saliba – 57%
Joe Gomez – 56%
Ruben Dias – 36%Still too small? 📏📏📏 pic.twitter.com/BBc1OOzTT0

Casemiro, got his United debut. He came on late when the pressure from the home side was more than ever. Casemiro and Fred once again paired in the midfield helping them increase their undefeatable tally.
The hosts threw plenty of chances against United in the closing stages. However, United are finally looking like a team to compete against helping them move up to the 7th position in the Premier League table.
