Steven Gerrard speaks on the current crisis going on at Manchester United

As reported by Mirror, Steven Gerrard has dismissed rumours of an Old Trafford crisis, claiming that he is ready to face the worst.

For the first time as a manager, the Aston Villa manager will take his position in the away dugout at the Theatre of Dreams, and he expects the same rocky ridge he had as a player with Liverpool.

Gerrard, like United manager Ralf Rangnick, took over at Villa midway through the season. So far, Gerrard has won half of his Premier League games. Rangnick, on the other hand, has only lost one of his five games, although the manner in which he was defeated by Bruno Lage’s Wolves prompted concern.

The Former Ranger’s manager instead said that his team will be facing a really difficult test on Monday.

The Villa boss said:

“I’m expecting a reaction from them. I watched the game against the Wolves. There seemed to be a lot of frustration about the place. I listened to the manager, he was disappointed with the result. The fact is, they have got world-class players. It’s a real tough fixture for us. A massive challenge.”

“We won’t approach this like there’s a crisis going on at United. We’ll be preparing for the best possible Manchester United because this is a team that’s going to be littered with high-end players. So, it would be foolish and naive to think we are going to play a weak team that’s having a hard time.”

“I just don’t think it makes any sense for us to prepare like that, no matter what’s happening there.”

Manchester United is currently going through a really bad phase after some recent calamitous performances against the Wolves and Newcastle.

Reports are emerging that the players are finding it tough to adapt to the present 4-2-2-2 formation used by Ralf Rangnick. To overcome this, the United manager has asked help from Mike Phelan to ease the current dressing room situation.

The players are equally to blame for not putting up top-level performances and are settling with the dull gloomy results that they are providing to the fans.

Manchester United faces Aston Villa on Monday and the players have to give their best in order to prevent an early FA Cup exit.
