Sunderland sign United starlet Amad Diallo on a loan deal

As reported by the club’s official website, Sunderland have signed Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo on a season long loan deal.

The 20-year-old joined the Red Devils outfit in 2020 from Atalanta for a fee of around £37 million. However, the Ivory Coast star has failed to live upto the expectations as he has featured in just nine games and has scored one goal.

Diallo spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers and he did contribute with three goals. The young African star was given some key minutes in the preseason games under the new manager.

He did impress with his gameplay during the pre-season games but it was not enough to fix his place in the squad. Diallo did not feature in any of the past five Premier League games and a move to the Championship side makes sense for both parties.

Tony Mowbray’s side will be getting a very dynamic and pacy player who can create a havoc through the wings. United have let go a number of young players.

Hannibal Mejbri has joined Birmingham City on loan whereas Tahith Chong has signed for the Championship side on a permanent basis. James Garner has also sealed his move to Everton on the deadline day.
