Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof hasn’t had the best of starts to the Premier League this season due to lack of a proper pre-season. Lindelof seems to be an ever-present figure in the Manchester United starting lineup despite having a few niggles along the season. In his recent interview with Fotbollskanalen, the Swedish national team manager Janne Andersson has raised concerns about Victor Lindelof’s fitness.
It was earlier reported that Lindelof had endured injuries against Everton and also in the international break while playing for Sweden. But despite the injuries and niggles Lindelof has played almost every minute for the Red Devils and is in contention to start tonight as well. Because of him playing so regularly, the Swedish national team boss is concerned about Lindelof’s injuries.
In his recent interview, Andersson said: “He basically plays Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday and so on, for as long as he wants. And he had hardly any leave at all between the seasons now. I really hope Victor can get his back in order. Injured players… it’s not fun. If he gets the chance to fully recover, we will see in the future.”
Victor Lindelof has become almost irreplaceable in the current Manchester United squad even after constant criticism of the defender. The United defence looks a lot more stable now after the Tottenham loss and Lindelof has also gained in confidence. Solskjaer will hope that Lindelof keeps up his fitness and doesn’t get injured anymore this season.
