Taith Chong Admits Dutch Clubs Were Interested In His Services

Manchester United midfielder Tahith Chong has explained that various clubs from Holland were interested in his services during the summer transfer window.

Under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, there are quite a few young players that are making rapid strides towards development as the Norwegian is offering them a chance to prove themselves on the grand stage.

One player to make a few first-team appearances from the academy has been the highly-rated Taith Chong. The 19-year-old winger has shown that he has the ability to go on and play for Manchester United in the future and become a key member for the Red Devils.

That potential has been scouted by other rival clubs in the European continent as Chong has confirmed that there were other clubs in the Netherlands that wanted to sign him in the summer. But Chong has also explained that there are ongoing talks with Solskajer and his agent over a possible contract extension at Old Trafford.

While on duty with the Netherland’s U-21 team, Chong said, “Ole tells me to keep working hard and my chances will come. That’s nice to hear. There are a few players who left and I’m climbing up the pecking order. It’s always nice to come back to the Netherlands, but in the end, I have to do what I find best for myself. That’s why I decided to stay.”

Chong’s current contract with United expires in 2020 and the young Dutch sensation revealed that he wants to play his football at the Theatre Of Dreams, “Of course we are talking, but it’s still too early to say anything about it. The season is still long and we will see what happens. There are a lot of competitions coming up and I will focus on that.”
