Teden Mengi set for Derby County loan move

The Manchester United academy has produced some fine talent over the past few seasons and are certainly not shy of giving them some first-team action if the youngsters are deemed worthy.

Teden Mengi is an 18year old defender at Manchester United who has impressed everyone at the club. According to MEN Sport, Teden Mengi will get his first loan move to Derby County.

What better place to get some first-team action than playing under a former Manchester United legend? Derby County is in a precarious situation right now with the finances being tight and Rooney even letting go of a part of his salary so that the players can be paid their proper wages.

Teden Mengi has played an important part in the Manchester United U-23 set up and even made a solitary first-team appearance in the Europa League in the Round of 32. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer also holds the teenager in high regard and believes that he can be a really important part of the setup one day but rushing through the process can sometimes put unnecessary pressure on them too.

Many of the Championship teams have been looking to avail of his services and it could even be a bit of respite for Derby County and Wayne Rooney who are looking to ensure their survival this season amidst tough circumstances.

Solksjaer’s transfer philosophy has always been that of bringing in as much young potential to the club as possible so that the future of the club can be ensured. He has given loan moves to Facundo and Teden almost seems like a done thing now.
