The Glazers’ desire to sell the club has led to warnings for Manchester United supporters not to expect a busy January transfer window.
Despite Erik ten Hag’s requests for fresh signings, it appears that the Red Devils’ owners will not approve any significant arrivals during the winter transfer window.
After years of protests, United supporters will finally get their wish of a takeover in the next year. The Glazer family recently declared that they will be selling the team. They stated that they were seeking either additional investment or a full takeover, but it soon became clear that the latter was preferred.
With the addition of Lisandro Martinez and Anthony, who cost considerable sums of money, United made important summer signings to give Ten Hag the tools necessary to compete for Champions League football this season. However, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the shopping binge won’t last until January.
The journalist said:
“I don’t think there’s much money to spend at Manchester United so I don’t want to disappoint fans but it’s most likely going to have to be a loan deal (striker signings).”
“Interestingly, they had admiration for Cody Gakpo, they almost signed him in the summer window, Erik ten Hag is a massive fan, but United are focused on a central striker for January and they see Gakpo as primarily a wide forward. Therefore, they also are looking at someone like Joao Felix if they can do that loan deal.”
"They're aiming for a complete sale of Manchester United in the first quarter of 2023."
Premier League insider @David_Ornstein reveals that Man United are looking to bring in Joao Felix on loan due to a potential sale of the club.

As a result of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract termination, Ten Hag has made it clear that he would like to add a striker to his team in the upcoming month. Although Marcus Rashford is viewed more as a winger than the preferred No. 9, Anthony Martial does not have much competition when fit.
Joao Felix has recently been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford due to his falling out of favour with Atletico Madrid and the state of his relationship with the team. Arsenal and Chelsea, who are both interested in the 23-year-old, are also keeping an eye on the Portuguese star’s current situation.
